Four different private open-air baths

Only 1% of all hot springs in Japan supply hot spring water directly from the source.

The strongly acidic and milky white hotsprings at Ohira Hotel have been flowing for 1900 years and are 100% from the source. Of the nearly 14,000 hotspring resorts in Japan, less than 1% use water 100% from the source. Our guests enjoy the freshest hotspring water.

ZAO

Zao and the power of its lush nature
will stimulate your senses

Spring is a lovely time, which allows us to encounter newly-awakened animals and plants. In summer, the night sky sparkles with countless stars. Autumn covers the mountains with red leaves and their aroma. Winter brings forth the frost, painting the trees white and creating a wondrous silver and white scenery. All four seasons offer soul-shatteringly beautiful, mighty vistas. Besides, each of them provides an opportunity for various activities. Visit Zao to experience the breath of mighty nature with all five senses.

Ski&Trekking

The best powdered snow and huge snow coverage! Ski slopes and courses with a variety of twists and turns. The symbol of Zao winters, the soft rime, is a fantastic sight that is illuminated at night. Snow trekking guided by Zao alpine instructors is also popular. We hope you come and experience "the largest snow resort area in northeastern Japan" where you will never run out of fun things to do.
